Credit Unions – How to get your current members to use more of your services


do you wish that there was a way to get more of your current members in your credit union to take advantage of all the services that your credit union offers well stay tuned because I'm gonna give you one tip on how to make that happen my name is Malla Haridat by way of a quick introduction I'm a speaker and a coach and I help people uncover what they don't know that they don't know about finding and keeping good people in their business and what that means for you as someone who works at a credit union is how do you find and retain more amazing members so I want you to consider this option when you think about the members experience of when they joined your credit union I'm betting that for a lot of people when they join the credit union they had no idea of the array of services that your credit union offers because they were hyper focused on one thing so I can think of this scenario for myself as a busy mom with my own business I'm speaking on a regular basis and I just don't have time a lot of times to be able to dive in deep on all of the information that I get so just imagine that someone joins the credit union they get the initial service they're looking for they find the savings account with a better rate or they find the loan program that helps them with their immediate need but they never think to connect the dots hmm how could I really be better utilizing my membership within this credit union to think about other services that I might need so let me encourage you to consider your onboarding process for bringing in new members to be a very long-term conversation because for a lot of people they may not just have time to be able to read the information and even if they do read a lot of the amazing marketing materials that your team has put together it doesn't always mean they've connected the dots between them so let me encourage you to think about this one of the tools that companies are using now to get really great results with getting clients to dive in deeper to their services are they're thinking about their people and they're thinking about the stories of success that they've had and how to tell that story with other people so there might be a current member for example who started out just using the credit union for a couple of years using only one product but over time has really grown to understand the value of what that experience has been and started using more services you may want to interview that particular member and find out if they wouldn't mind to share their story and use their story as a way to really ramp up the onboarding process for your current members because for a lot of people they may not just think about the services that you offer until they really desperately need that service but as we know a lot of times the best way to be able to use services is when you're thinking about it in advance and you're preparing so if you're interested in getting a loan for example you want to get the advice that your credit union can probably help with figuring out the situation around credit do you even qualify for the loan rather than waiting until your back is up against the wall and you're hoping that you actually get approved for a loan that you need so I recommend that you use these stories in different places within your marketing materials and really showcase some of the examples about how people have really been able to connect those services that you offer with points on their everyday lives and I'm betting for people that are really busy that or don't have time to necessarily read through all of the materials or who just even have read and never connected the dots I'm betting you're gonna see more people thinking about oh wait a minute I need that that's something that I'm thinking about are considering and they'll start to seek out more of the services at your credit union my name is Maya heretic guys I am a speaker and coach and I am here to help you and other organizations uncover what you don't know that you don't know about finding and retaining amazing people in your business so I hope that this video has been really helpful and I'd love to share a few more with you take
