Do I Have to use the Attorney Who Drafted the Will to Probate the Will?

Today's question do I have to use the attorney who drafted the Will to help probate the Will? now in previous videos we talked about probate but probate is the court supervised process of administering the estate following your death if you use one attorney to draft your Will the attorney will oftentimes put their name and firm contact information on the bottom page or cover page of the Will or other documents this is fine and it makes sense because it's good marketing I do the same thing however be aware that your heirs and personal representative are not required to use the attorney who drafted the Will to probate the Will many times years go by in the attorney who drafted the Will is either out of practice retired or unavailable when it comes time for the probate your personal representative should find an estate planning attorney they feel comfortable working with to help them probate the estate great question thanks for asking if you have a question feel free to submit it below and I will try to answer it in a future video blog segment
